Griffin Theatre / Branding, Art Direction and Editorial Design for Australia's leading writers theatre. An brand was developed that allowed it to express its own creativity and personality with words.
Griffin needed an identity to match its reputation as Australia’s premier writing theatre. An identity was developed that allowed it to express its own creativity and personality with words. The mood of any poster or spread can change to something completely different by using different words, colour and imagery, whilst still being unmistakably Griffin. I was also given the luxury of art directing the photoshoots, which ensured the images became a dynamic canvas for the new typographic brand.
Griffin Independent showcases smaller plays, with small casts, small budgets - all in a small A6 brochure. It had to adopt a strong style across it as, unlike the main Griffin brochure, we had nearly no control over the images we would have to use. Using strong typography and a visual style that could be applied across each play, 6 very different plays were brought together to create an independent brand.
